Fear is an emotion, not a reason to stop ourselves. Often when I ask people what is stopping them they tell me it's fear. Fear of failure, fear of being rejected, fear of being judged by others, fear of being hurt, fear of letting others down, etc. You get the picture, but fear is not a reason to stop ourselves. Fear is but one emotion that will ride along with us as we take our journey. Fear is part of success. But, I'm getting ahead of myself because understanding how to manage fear is just one topic I am passionate about. I teach principles I sum up to be the "psychology of excellence,” or the psychological research on how to be at our best. I created a whole course about it that I taught at the University of Texas Honors College and to organizations looking to become more effective in reaching peak performance. I teach how to be at our best and how to be content at the end of the day when we look at ourselves in the mirror. After all, being your best does not mean being "perfect," but rather living our purpose authentically.
